Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) legislation requires new developments in England to provide a minimum 10% net gain in biodiversity.
Nutrient Neutrality is a legal standard set by the Government, to address the impact of development on the environment and in certain water courses. It requires that development projects don't have a detrimental impact on water quality.
Developers need to offset the additional nutrient pollution caused by new developments within protected areas - they cannot get planning permission without doing this.
These obligations for developers provide an opportunity for landowners and farmers to diversify and create income by meeting the needs of the BNG and Nutrient Neutrality schemes.
Green Agri Land develops fully Natural England approved land-based solutions , wetlands and other innovative schemes across the UK to provide nutrient offsets in areas affected by Nutrient Neutrality. These schemes enable us to create nutrient credits that can be used to by developers to offset their nutrient requirements which can be set against specific developments and unlock their planning permissions.
We have experience in working alongside local planning authorities, delivering a full legal framework which ensures our mitigation projects will not only deliver nutrient credits but give certainty that they are legally compliant, giving all parties certainty for planning application approvals.
